Dr. Wymer appointed VP at LSSC




LEESBURG // Dr. Douglas Wymer has joined Lake-Sumter State College as vice president of academic affairs, and becomes a key member of President Stanley Sidor’s cabinet. Wymer will provide strategic oversight, lead all accreditation efforts, and oversee more than 25 academic programs, eLearning, library services, and the learning center.


“Dr. Wymer has extensive experience within the Florida College System, particularly in the development of baccalaureate programs,” says Sidor. “Expanding our baccalaureate offerings is a primary strategic focus for the college, and I believe he’ll be a valuable contributor to our efforts.”


Wymer most recently served as dean of baccalaureate studies and academic support at Pensacola State College. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Shorter University, completed his master’s degree in entomology from Clemson University, and earned his doctorate in environmental science from Tennessee Technological University
