Clermont // County commissioner Sean Parks, a contributing writer for Lake Business Magazine, was elected by the Lake County Board of County Commissioners to serve as chairman of the commission.
Parks, who represents South Lake County, was first elected to the Lake County Board of County Commissioners in 2010 and re-elected to serve a second term in 2014. He previously served on the Lake County Water Authority’s board of trustees from 2004-08.
“Lake County is a wonderful place to live and work; I think we can all agree on that,” Parks said. “But I think we also agree that we’ve got more work to do. As chairman, I will be a force in cultivating good on this board and developing our fullest potential that we collectively have to offer.”
He and his wife, Ivy, attend the Church of South Lake and are extremely active in the community. Parks served as chairman for the Boy Scouts of America, a board member of the Lake County Educational Foundation, and on the South Lake Chamber of Commerce’s economic development committee.
