LEESBURG // Organizational Management students at Lake-Sumter State College and members of the Society for Advancement of Management (SAM) won first place in the open division of the case competition at the 2016 International SAM Conference in Arlington, Virginia.

Patricia Delhaye, Erica Dean, Nancy Harmon, and Kelly Armstrong won over teams from Texas A&M, Clarion University, Ohio Northern University, and Flagler College. They received the top prize for their analysis of the case study topic, “Target Corp’s Tarnished Reputation: Failure in Canada and a Massive Data Breach.”

“The experience and knowledge attained from the courses in the program and their individual professional experiences coupled with their ability to collaborate made this a winning team,” says Dr. Luis Pizarro, program manager of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Management, LSSC’s first baccalaureate degree program.
